What Does it take to be an Osteopath?

To call yourself an Osteopath or use  Osteopath in your business name you must be a registered Osteopath with the Government body  “Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA)”.  To obtain registration you must have completed at least five years of university training in anatomy, physiology, pathology, embryology, medical diagnosis and osteopathic techniques and finally pass the government practical exam.

Osteopaths’ study doesn’t stop there. They also must accrue Continued Professional Development (CPD) points each year and have a valid Level 2 first-aid certificate at all times.
